Summer Professional Development
for teachers:

For over a decade, Joel has facilitated week-long creative residencies with teachers (both arts and non-arts alike) where he guides participants through adapting a source material into a fully-realized performance complete with music, lyrics and staging, while reflectively discovering along the way how the performance tools we learn in composition, lyric crafting and staging can be adapted and used in the classroom to achieve academic learning goals. Partnering organizations for this include The Metropolitan Opera Guild, Boston Lyric Opera and Muse Machine.
Joel is currently available for summer bookings for Professional Development Residencies for the 2024 summer season. References from previous partnerships are available.
